NEWS WAITAKI HERALD, FEBRUARY 18, 2015 St Kevin’s students merit awards The Dominican Excellence Awards were held at St Kevin’s College chapel last week and more than 110 students were acknowledged for their achievements in obtaining a merit or excellence endorsement for NCEA Level 1,2 or3in 2014. Pupils who received an excellence endorsement, also received a College Academic Blue. The merit awards were presented by principal Paul Olsen, and year 11 dean Janelle Casey. Former college teacher Sister Madeleine was the honoured guest for the event, presenting the excellence awards and their associated Academic Blue. Following the award presentations, there was a special presentation for Sister Madeleine, who was acknowledged for 65 years of service to the college as a teacher and a representative of the Board of Trustees, and of service to the Oamaru Parish. It was also an opportunity to thank her for her dedicated commitment to the Dominican sisters.
